Panty liners are sticking too tight: what to do

Panty liners are sticking too tight: what to do

Sometimes everything just goes wrong: you want to remove the panty liner from your panties, but it sticks. And it sticks so tight that, if it does come off, it takes fabric fibers with it from your underwear, overstretching the seams and even tearing them. This is, with all due respect, a big mess! The sticky fluff of the plastic film is stuck everywhere, in case of doubt, even in the washing machine. What to do if panty liners stick too much?

Why does the panty liner have to stick at all?

When you move around, stroll through the city or do sports, you want to feel perfectly protected even on special menstrual days. There are many reasons to wear panty liners: some women don't like the feeling of damp laundry and always wear panty liners. Others wear the insert as a protection in addition to the tampon. And sometimes the panty liner is the best (most discreet) solution if there is a slight incontinence after the birth of a child or if something goes wrong with a cold. The panty liner must stick so that it does not slip in the clothing. That is why the manufacturers give the panty liners some strongly adhesive surfaces.

What to do if the inserts stick too much?

The adhesives used by manufacturers don't do well with grease. If you stick the panty liner briefly on your freshly creamed hand and only then put it in your panties, it will still hold it well - but it will come off your pants later more easily. Please do not spread any oil or cream on the adhesive side of the insert. Because that would be too much and would leave unsightly grease stains on your clothes.

Alternatives to classic hygiene products

However, there are also alternatives to panty liners. Hygiene pads made of cotton or silk do not stick. They are very comfortable to wear and can be used again and again after washing. Since these panty liners do not stick, they are equipped with wings and a press button or Velcro fastener. However, some manufacturers also entirely do without the fastening mechanism. Then a safety pin can be used for fastening. Sometimes the panties don't have any seams on the front or in the back on the second, inner layer. If the narrow sides of this extra layer of fabric are not sewn, you can simply push your fabric insert into it with the ends. That holds up very well.

But you can also simply do without the insert. So-called menstrual underwear has some extra layers of fabric in exactly the right places that are wonderfully absorbent. A resistant layer is worked into the outside of the panties so that no moisture can get through. The underwear is comfortable to wear, like any other underwear. It is not bulky and at first glance it is indistinguishable from other pants! And you can wash the discreet panties in the washing machine and use them again and again - that's not only good for your bank account, but also for the environment.
